CleanSwipe: Photo Cleaner

Support & frequently asked questions

Your photos stay on your iPhone. CleanSwipe analyses your library on the device itself. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create.

Getting started

Turning on photo library access

CleanSwipe needs to read your photo library to find anything at all. It asks only when you tap to scan — never on the first launch screen.

If you declined earlier, or want to change what CleanSwipe can see:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap Privacy & Security → Photos
  3. Tap CleanSwipe
  4. Choose Full Access, or Limited Access to pick specific photos

Limited Access works. CleanSwipe analyses only the photos you selected and says so on screen, so the numbers always describe what it can actually see.

Nothing was found

A category showing “Nothing to review” means CleanSwipe looked and found nothing of that kind — that is a real result, not an error. A category showing “Unavailable” means the analysis could not run; these are deliberately shown differently so a missing measurement is never presented as a clean library.

Deleting photos

How removal works

CleanSwipe never removes anything by itself. You mark items, review the full selection, then confirm. iOS then asks you to confirm again. Only after both confirmations does anything leave your library.

Where deleted photos go

They go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where iOS keeps them for about 30 days.

Some items could not be removed

Shared library items and some system-managed media cannot be removed from another app. CleanSwipe reports exactly how many succeeded and how many did not, and leaves the failures selected so you can try again or handle them in Photos.

CleanSwipe Pro

What Pro unlocks

Scanning, the dashboard, every category count and a meaningful amount of cleanup are free. Pro removes the daily cleanup limit and unlocks similar-photo review, possibly-blurry review, video compression, unlimited Swipe Clean sessions and the full cleanup history.

Plans

Weekly and Annual are auto-renewing subscriptions. Lifetime is a single purchase that does not renew. Prices are shown in your local currency, supplied by the App Store.

Restore Purchases

If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, tap Restore Purchases. It is on the CleanSwipe Pro screen and in Settings → Restore Purchases inside the app.

My purchase is not showing

  1. Check that your iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with: Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases.
  2. Make sure you have a working internet connection.
  3. Tap Restore Purchases in the app.
  4. If the app says no purchase was found, the purchase is not associated with that Apple Account. Confirm the receipt in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions or in your Apple purchase history.
  5. If it still does not appear, contact us with the date of purchase and the plan you bought. Please do not send us your payment details.

Managing or cancelling a subscription

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside CleanSwipe:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select CleanSwipe and change or cancel it there

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

I have a subscription — can I buy Lifetime?

Apple does not cancel a subscription when you make a separate one-time purchase, so buying Lifetime while a subscription renews would charge you for both. CleanSwipe therefore asks you to turn off renewal first, then offers Lifetime. This is deliberate.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Video compression

Compression re-encodes a video on your device. Your original is never touched until the new file has been written and checked, and removing the original is always a separate choice you make. Estimated sizes shown beforehand are approximations — the real size is only known once encoding finishes. If a video is already efficiently encoded, the result may not be smaller, and CleanSwipe tells you when that happens.

Privacy

Photos, videos, thumbnails, EXIF and location data, file names and analysis results never leave your iPhone. CleanSwipe has no advertising, no tracking, no analytics SDK and no account system. The only data that leaves the device is your purchase status, processed by RevenueCat so that CleanSwipe Pro survives a reinstall.
